PROJECT: “The CREATION - OVERTURE”

This instrumental piece, “The Creation - Overture to “The Mystery of His Great Name,” came about in a very special way. I was moved and inspired to compose music about the creation account in the book of Bereshit/Genesis: “In the beginning G-d created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of G-d was hovering over the waters. And G-d said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.” (Bereshit/Genesis 1:1-3)

This is the live performance the first act of “The Mystery of His Great Name,” an original musical drama I wrote and produced at Vino Nuevo in 2015.

The live execution was enriched by the musical contributions of fellow musicians: Pepe Guillén on piano, Daniel Guillén on percussion, Abraham Sosa on drums, Iván Morales on electric guitar, and Iván Martínez on synthesizer.

Esta pieza, “La Creación - Overtura de “El Misterio de Su Gran Nombre”” es una obra muy especial. La inspiración viene al leer el relato de la creación en el libro de Génesis: “En el principio creó Dios los cielos y la tierra. Y la tierra estaba desordenada y vacía, y las tinieblas estaban sobre la faz del abismo, y el Espíritu de Dios se movía sobre la faz de las aguas. Y dijo Dios: Sea la luz; y fue la luz.” (Génesis‬ ‭1:1-3‬)

Esta es la obra musical que compuse para el primer acto de la puesta-en-escena de “El Misterio de Su Gran Nombre”, un drama-musical original que se preparó en Vino Nuevo en el año 2015.

La interpretación en vivo fue enriquecida por la aportación musical de mis hermanos músicos Pepe Guillen en el piano, Daniel Guillén en las percusiones, Abraham Sosa en la batería, Iván Morales en la guitarra eléctrica e Iván Martínez en el synth.
